Paul Lewis, professor of English at Boston College, has published on American literature and culture, gothic fiction, and humor. Between 2010 and 2014, he served as the chairman of the Edgar Allan Poe Foundation of Boston; he is currently the president of the Poe Studies Association. The Citizen Poets of Boston anthology evolved out of an exhibition on Boston's literary history he curated in 2012 at the Boston Public Library and Massachusetts Historical Society.
