About me
Margaret Winikates is a writer and museum professional from Boston and Sharon, MA. She writes poetry and fiction, as well as being the co-editor of New England Museums Now. Meg is thrilled and honored to be one of the poets selected for the Ekphrastic Poetry Gallery at this year's 2021 Mass Poetry Festival!
She has had several poems selected for public art projects, such as Bikeway Haiku in Arlington, and Raining Poetry sponsored by the Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst. Her poems are also published on Window Cat Press, essays and poetry at UK literary journal, all the sins, and short fiction on PEM's Connected and Zetetic: A Record of Unusual Inquiry. Also, her futurist vision of museum education won an honorable mention from the Center for the Future of Museums fiction contest. She is a passionate advocate for museums and the broader arts & cultural field, serving on the Create the Vote steering committee, the MassCreative Leadership Council, and the board of the Sharon Historical Society.
