About me
Carl Carlsen, Professor Emeritus at North Shore Community College, is the author of Brickyard Stories 2.0: A Lynn MA Neighborhood Before and After Urban Renewal [2021]. He has also created and curated The Poetry of Places in Essex County, a website, www.poetryofplaces.org featuring poetry written over the centuries about specific places in Lynn, Gloucester and Nahant. A recent expansion of the site includes three of his poems inspired by John Sloan's paintings of Dogtown as well as three Dogtown poems by James R. Scrimgeour.
