Alysia Abbott is the author of Fairyland: A Memoir of My Father, a recipient of the Madame Figaro Prix Heroine and the ALA Stonewall Award. Named a New York Times Editor's Pick and one of the best books of the year by the SF Chronicle and Shelf Awareness, it was also finalist for the 2014 Lambda Literary Award and a Goodreads Choice Award. Fairyland has been published in the United States, the UK, France, Poland, and Spain; translations are forthcoming in Brazil and Italy. Her writing has been published in TriQuarterly, Lit Hub, Out, The Boston Globe, The NYTBR, Vogue, and elsewhere. The recipient of a fellowship from the Ragdale Foundation and an MFA in creative nonfiction from the New School, Abbott teaches the Memoir Incubator Program at GrubStreet.
