Massachusetts Statewide Poetry Calendar 2

The Openest Mic will be bringing together musicians, poets, speakers, and anyone else who wants to have a great night at Smokestack Roasters on Friday, December 8th at 6 PM!! 
The Openest Mic is the most open open mic you’ll ever go to: we’ve had debuts of songs from local artists, we’ve had motivational speakers do grounding exercises, we’ve had acapella singalongs, we’ve had poets that have brought us to tears…the common thread is that people come to the mic knowing they can be their true selves! The audience is respectful and supportive of authenticity and passion. No matter what talent you bring to the mic, there are people who want to see what you’ve got!
Bring your good vibes and get ready to be amazed! The list drops live at the event at 6:15, there are no online signups. Sets are 7 minutes or two songs. Vendors will drop closer to the event. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

A Puerto Rican and a Cambodian walk into a kitchen. The kitchen is your heart. The food is made with food. The food is sometimes poems. Either way you are fed. Adobo-Fish-Sauce (Anthony Febo and Ricky Orng) is an active choice to celebrate in the face of bitterness. It is responding to “Go back to where you come from!” by bringing where they are from right to you. The duo fuses spoken word, cooking, intentionality, vulnerability, and joy to create a one of a kind experience that can’t be found in any kitchen or open mic.

All Ages — children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
